What adventures I find as I continue on my quest for more information on Hall China.
If you have pictures or information or Corrections for these websites I would love to add it to What's New next update!

A heretofore undocumented set of Hall China Kitchen ware!
Gaco Radiant Ware Bowls

Here is an unusual find!  Radiant Ware bowls made for GACO.  They are very different than the ones made for Jewel Tea.  They are similar to the Five Band bowls but are different sizes and a slightly different shape. The color and glaze are the same as  was used on the Jewel Tea Radiant Ware bowls.
The blue letters are not on the original label.
The diameters of the Gaco bowls are almost the same as the Jewel tea bowls.

(The Jewel Tea bowls on the left and the Gaco bowls on the right)

Left to right:

Gaco Radiant Ware Bowl

large Five Band Bowl

Notice that the large orange Gaco bowl on the left is more tapered on the sides than is the Five Band bowl.  The smaller Gaco bowls are very close to the shape of the smaller Five Band bowls (similar taper on sides), but they are of slightly different sizes.
They look a lot like Five Bands don't they?  They are all different in size than any of the Five Band bowls. The banding pattern is almost the same however.

Notice that bottom of both the Jewel Tea and the Gaco bowls have the three tits from the firing stand on the bottom and are completely glazed.  The Five Band bowls (and virtually every other piece of Hall China do not have these characteristics.   Because of the subtle differences in shape and size between the Gaco bowls and Five Band bowls, I believe this set of bowls was likely created especially for Gaco, rather than  Hall using an already established shape (as was a common practice for Hall).  I know there must be a VERY interesting story behind these two variations of Hall Radiant Ware bowls - and why one of them is well marked and the other has only a paper label.  I wonder if I will ever learn any more about their history.

If you have any information on the GACO Radiant Ware bowls (or the Gaco company) please let me know!  I don't know if these bowls are rare (or if they are out there and just not known to be HALL) since they are not marked in any way.  If I were to have found these bowls without the paper label, my first suspicion would be that they were a copy made by some other quality china manufacturer such as Coors or Fraunfelter or the like.  Much to my delight, there ARE still paper labels on three of the bowls in the set that I found.

Here is another odd item - and in gorgeous ORCHID  at that! It is a bathroom sink made for Rheem, a company better known for manufacturing heating and cooling equipment.

Below are listed some of the other larger changes that I have made in the last few months

Maggie sent some pictures of her Walls of Color
Nearly all the colors have new additions.

Colors by Example  (More added in September!)
More McCormick, Lipton and Teapot colors added.  There is also a new section (Thanks to Jim & Terry) on Gold Label items)
These selections show pictures of many common Hall items in the colors that they are often found. 24+ Teapot colors, McCormicks, Liptons, Refrigeratorware, Gold Label items, etc.  These are laid out like the patterns pages only I compressed the images to make them load faster. This makes the pictures fuzzier but since you are looking at colors and not details I think you can see them well enough.  You can click many of the pictures to see a larger sharper image.

Here's a new advertisement I found.
It is a cover of Better Homes & Gardens June 1939.

Oh, what EVER shall I make for dinner . . . .
